Tomorrow I will be chairing the third meeting of the Open Grappenhall & Thelwall working group. The eventual aim is to host a weekend festival which can showcase the amazing groups and activities which serve the communities of Grappenhall and Thelwall. Through providing such a showcase, we want to increase the awareness and participation of local residents in their communities.

Since becoming a parish councillor I have never ceased to be impressed by the volume and diversity of things going on in our communities; this involves hundreds of people committing their time to share hobbies, interests or to improve our area either socially, culturally or environmentally. All this good work deserves better recognition. Furthermore, I believe this good work should be shared by the widest possible range of people.

We are still in the planning stages of an event which we are looking to hold next year. If you or your group would like to be involved in any way, then please contact me so that we can discuss how you can help to contribute to what should be a brilliant weekend for everybody.
